Close Encounters with Nature

There is a deep satisfaction with getting close to nature and a joy at an acceptance from wildlife to our presence in their world. So often we forget that we are mere observors in nature and not the masters.
This year I went back to basics in my tour business and took a closer look at what I was delivering to customers in a way of experience. What I discovered was that in my development of the business I had moved away from the core root ,which was close encounters with nature and now I tended to focus on more accesible travel and routes. I was denying my customers that unique experience and myself the continued connection with the nature I adored.

As a result I developed a new set of excursions based on wildlife and environment. In this journey of creating new experiences I discovered my passion again and got close to wildlife like never before. I experienced things in nature I had never seen in over 20 years of business and it was spectacular, but what made it more special was watching the smile on my guests faces as they sat and watched wildlife in the closest proximity.

To share with them these magical moments was indeed special . I learned that in order to stay ahead of the game is not about competition but continually improving what I delivered. In doing so the product would take care of itself and the customer would leave fulfilled at having experienced something that exceeded expectations.

So I guess what I'm trying to say here is that by coninual internal evaluation of our own eco businesses and core values we can discover the key to providing truly sustainable and unnique experiences in nature.
