- My Connection with Ecotourism
- I have always had a passion for travel - backpacking, vacationing, and white-water rafting has taken me across the globe and opened my eyes to ways in which travelers, tourists, cultures and environment are intertwined. My experience working at a safari lodge in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia sparked my interest in the role tourism can play in economic and community development and empowerment, as a means of resource management, poverty alleviation, and as a way to bridge cultural gaps and enrich lives across the globe. I attended the 2008 Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference in Vancouver, British Colombia. This year I expanded my role by working as a volunteer at the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference 2010 in Portland, Oregon.

I am a goal-driven and results-oreiented individual with a unique combination of experience as a traveler, hiker and rafter, as well as a member of a professional office environment. I have a passion for sustainable tourism and offer my deep commitment to make a positive and significant contribution to this field. I possess a strong work ethic and I enjoy working cooperatively with others as well as in a self-directed setting. I have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and I am a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist for Excel 2007. I also take the initiative to contribute to community outreach programs where I live, such as volunteering with Sierra Club Inner City Outings, and as a trail maintainer in Wawayanda State Park with the NY/NJ Trail Conference.
