About Me
  • Eco Profile
  • My Connection with Ecotourism
  • I have a BA in Human Geography from the University of British Columbia (Canada) and an MSc in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey (UK). Academically, I have undertaken an indepth study of sustainability and sustainable tourism. Personally, I strive to travel with as small a footprint as possible, and am always mindful of eco-friendly options for travel and tourism activities. Professionally, I work with WHL Group, the world's largest local travel organisation, specifically with responsible day tour brand Urban Adventures, and short-break local package distributor Gunyah.
  • I am seeking
  • networking and connections in sustainable tourism and responsible, local travel. Additionally, I am particularly interested shaping a sustainable approach to leveraging the tourism potential of hosting large-scale events and sporting events, such as the upcoming 2015 Toronto Pan/Parapan Am Games.
  • I am offering
  • experience, enthusiasm, and passion. I am extremely organized, dedicated, and thorough, and when I am excited about a project I have the ability to produce excellent work.
  • Favourite Eco Destination
  • Iceland
  • Other Interests
  • I am an avid reader and writer, and tend to incorporate travel literature into both hobbies. Additionally, I am in love with food and wine, and always strive to enjoy local samplings of both while out on the road. Naturally, as a patriotic Canadian, I am a huge hockey fan (go Leafs!) and love winter sports, especially snowboarding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. I also love swimming, squash, and sport kickboxing, among my many sport interests. I ran my first half-marathon in May 2011 with a time of 2h07m.
