Ecotourism Ring

Since 1998, the Ecotourism Ring, hosted at Web Ring and managed by ECOCLUB.com, unites genuine Ecotourism websites.

Terms & Conditions

A. Ecotourism Ring (ER) Membership is Free of Charge.

B. Member websites must have a substantial, original content - no links sites - and be about Tourism that meets most of the following Criteria:

1. it is locally-owned and managed by a family, a voluntary cooperative, a collective or a worker-managed company.
(POLITICAL Criterion)

2. it meets the real individual & collective needs of the local community and eliminates poverty and exploitation.

(ECONOMIC Criterion)

3. it minimises its environmental impact in terms of its location, infrastructure and operation.

(ENVIRONMENTAL Criterion)

4. it eliminates inequality, injustice, oppression, prejudice & exploitation of all types, respects individual and collective human rights.
(SOCIAL Criterion)

5. it promotes knowledge, non-violence, solidarity & mutual support, freedom of expression, leisure & recreation for all, direct-democratic & grassroots decision-making, gender equality, internationalism & intercultural understanding.

(CULTURAL Criterion)

NB. If the above information is not evident to us upon visiting your website, your application will be declined.

C. The Ecotourism Ring Navigation Code (ERNC) - seen at the bottom of this page - must be displayed on the frontpage or a page directly linked from the frontpage and not in a hidden page or a hidden website. The use of Frames in particular should conform with this rule.

D. If the ERNC is removed, the website listing will be suspended and an email notification will be sent to you, the Webmaster. Please pay special attention when updating your website. Once you add the ERNC back to your website your website listing will be reactivated. You will be given 30 days to add the ERNC back to your website, after that your website will be automatically removed from the ER.

E. The Ecotourism Ring accept NO liability and make NO guarantees in relation to benefits from participating in the Ecotourism Ring. The Ecotourism Ring Managers do NOT guarantee the performance, non-interruption of this Webring service. The Ecotourism Ring do NOT accept any liability resulting from the display of the ERNC. Webring http://www.webring.com are solely responsible for technical matters.

F. The Ecotourism Ring may amend any of the above Terms, at any time without notice. Thus It is your responsibility to review the rules from time to time. In the event that Term number 1 changes (i.e. Membership ceases to be free), you will be notified well in advance and will have a period of 30 days to decide whether you wish to remain in the Ecotourism Ring.
