3rd IIPT African Conference on Peace through Tourism
February 6-11, Lusaka, Zambia
The Conference is being organised by the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) in partnership with the Africa Travel Association (ATA), and hosted by the Zambian Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources. Its aim is "to develop a 21st Century Vision for African Tourism". The conference will provide a forum for leading government, industry, donor agency and NGO decision makers, as well as leading educators and practitioners, to debate and reach consensus on a 21st Century Vision for African Tourism, demonstrate success Stories and models of best practice and facilitate the creation of strategic alliances.

2005 Rural Tourism Fair / Feria de Turismo Rural
February 12, Oaxaca, Mexico
A small festival among friends, this is the fifth annual event co-created by Planeta.com in Oaxaca City. The 2005 Rural Tourism Fair brings together local travel providers, community leaders, media, government officials and inspired travellers for a few magical hours in the historic town of Oaxaca, a World Heritage Site. The event showcases alternatives travellers have in exploring Mexico's rural countryside. Roundtable discussions will focus on three topics: Art and Culture in Rural Communities; New Trends in the Mezcal Industry and Local Efforts to Promote Biking in Oaxaca. The fair takes place February 12, 2005 from 12-7pm at Amigos del Sol, Libres #109. Free admission.

Workshop: Nature, Access for people with reduced mobility
March 9-13, Texel Island, Netherlands
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together Europeans with knowledge or a desire for knowledge of the issue of providing access to nature for people with disabilities. The workshop will provide the opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experience to facilitate the improvement of access facilities for the disabled, at European natural sites - the workshop will also encourage future cooperation and collaboration on this subject, providing contacts for future information exchange.
