This month ECOCLUB proudly presents an inspiring and timely interview
with Ms. Pam Wight, acclaimed Ecotourism Consultant and Rapporteur to the World Ecotourism
Summit in Québec, who co-drafted the Québec Declaration on Ecotourism. We
discuss among other things what can prevent the Declaration from remaining a
declaration.
In this issue, we are also
launching "The Expert", a column to showcase
the Expert talent of ECOCLUB Expert Members. The Expert is inaugurated with an extensive
presentation of Aboriginal tourism by Mr. Ian
Menzies, a respected Australian tourism practitioner and academic.
You will thus be spared the doom and gloom of last
month's infamous editorial, since in August some may be "bored by rhetoric
and public speaking"... Smile sardonically and go on holidays,
sustainable ones. And, who knows, Cavafy's
barbarians may be late again.
