JUNGLE LODGE WITH CARIBBEAN AND ISLAND VIEWS.
Year round tropical jungle with title resolution in hand. Total land area of 31.6 Hectares or 78 acres of mature rainforest with three year round spring fed streams provide cool, crystal clear water for drinking, bathing, swimming and power production. Entire property is powered by our micro hydro turbine that produces tremendous amounts of electricity.
Capable of producing four times the power currently being used. Unlike solar, hydro provides ample power 24/7 and allows for the use of normal everyday appliances without the fear of low batteries or poor energy production due to bad weather conditions. Perfect location on the mountain allows for this unique sustainable energy source to operate efficiently all year. With a much higher elevation then the town below the lodge receives steady breezes off of the Caribbean sea during the day & cool mountain air surrounds the property at night maintaining a perfect temp of approximately 85-89°F during the day and around 69-75°F at night. This turnkey lodge is fully functional and currently open for guests year round with confirmed bookings extended into the end of the year all while maintaining positive reviews from international travelers online. Constructed entirely with timber from the property and built by a team of local indigenous people (Ngäbe-Buglé). Each piece of wood was cut with a chainsaw then hauled by hand and assembled by hand without the use of any modern day saws or nail guns. Select types of wood were used for various applications to insure longevity in the jungle environment. Its rustic, caribbean style construction blends perfectly in the middle of the rainforest.
Important! The Lodge is accessible only by foot or horse from the parking area. Hike in takes approximately 10-15 minutes on a well maintained trail to arrive at the lodge. A couple designated areas with benches to rest if needed are along the trail. It has been hiked by guests of all ages ranging from 3 to 82 year olds with ease. Parking area and hike in entrance is just 3 km off the main road that connects Bocas islands with David & Boquete area. Lodge is in the small town of Rambala. Although small, the town offers several mini markets, several hardware stores, restaurants, two gas stations, bank & bus terminal with direct transportation to and from anywhere in Panama. Also the area’s main hospital, aeronavel station and police station are all in town just 3 km off the lodge. Panamanian cell phone provider CLARO works well all over the property with reliable signal capable of streaming and video chats.
Starlink internet is said to be available in the area within the year offering 100 Mbps service via satellite.
Property as three separate bungalows and two more rooms in the main building with a total of 5 bedrooms and 5 baths capable of sleeping 11 with an additional site cleared for a new bungalow to be constructed if desired. Main lodge and all bungalows have new extruded (Panaroof) PVC roofs that will last for decades to come without rusting while staying cooler in the sun and quieter in the rain than typical galvanized metal roofs.
All bungalows and rooms have private attached bathrooms with hot water on demand and flushing toilets with independent septic systems for each building. The main building consists of two rooms and two baths. One of the rooms is a small guest room (SAPO) with a twin bed and private bathroom with the same conveniences and charm of the other bungalows, just smaller. The other room (Jefe) has a queen bed and private bath currently used as the owner/operator's suite with a beautiful shower constructed around a massive boulder that extends outside the building. The (Jefe) room also has a small wardrobe, ceiling fan and smart TV for those extended stays and is centrally located to always assist any guests if needed. Main building also has the dining area, lounge, kitchen/bar and walk-in bodega used for pantry and laundry. Open air kitchen offers amazing sights and sounds of the jungle. Kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare meals with ease including a five burner stove/oven, deep freezer, LG side by side refrigerator, commercial grade coffee maker, toaster as well as various mixers, blenders, ice machine and microwave. Under the main building is the garden bodega containing all the hydro electric equipment, battery bank, building supplies & tools including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, pressure washer, portable generator, hand tools and power tools, horse tack and feed. Basically all that’s needed to maintain the property.
One of the common areas for guests is El Rancho, an open air pavilion area with hammock chairs, bar top & stools, darts and billiard table. Overhead lighting and 110v outlets as well.
La Palapa is a naturally constructed (Tiki style) hut made with a thatched palm roof with a fire table (propane) and accent LED lighting with seating for six.
Tucan and Kinkajou bungalows are nearly identical, both have views of the mountain stream 50-100ft away. Tucan bungalow is directly over Table rock falls with an amazing view that has become the guest favorite. Each bungalow sleeps two with a queen bed, private bath, safe, mini refrigerator, beautiful bamboo shower, hot water, flushing toilet, hammock and multiple electrical outlets.
Colibri bungalow is our two bed great for families, sleeps four with its two full size beds, jungle views and conveniently close to the main lodge. ALL potable water used on site is provided from one of the springs then ultra filtered with a system from England with the use of mechanical filtration and Ultraviolet radiation providing safe drinking water year round with great water pressure
Pathways from all buildings & common areas are river rock rock and lit at night with 110v LED path lights.
Love to garden? A 300 sqFt greenhouse with eight raised beds, exhaust fan and automatic irrigation provides a secure place to grow your veggies.

Two designated areas for year round swimming. Both with beautiful waterfalls and perfect sun exposure. Excellent way to cool off after a long hike. Lemon pasture is half acre fenced to keep horses when guests are onsite with year round stream and good quality grass. Corral de Loma is a corral in front of the lodge used before and after horseback rides. Great place for guests to visit the horses and feed them without hiking to the pasture. Several horses are included with the sale of the lodge. Horses play an important role at the lodge not only for rides but hauling in guest luggage and supplies.
The Casa de Gallinas (chicken house) keeps our hens safe and secure while providing approximately 40-50 fresh eggs per week.
Throughout the property there are hundreds of mature fruit producing trees including two types of banana, two types of plantains, orange trees, Cacao trees (Chocolate) Guava trees, Mango trees, avocado trees, lemon trees, coconut palms, Guanabana trees and pineapple plants. Along with over a dozen mature (500+ yrs old) Almendro trees (Almond). They are called the guardians of the rainforest.
And of course it wouldn’t be a jungle without an impressive amount of wildlife that calls the property home. Daily encounters of both three toed and two toed sloths and three species of toucans along with hundreds of other beautiful tropical birds, Kinkajous, and three species of monkeys are all common.
The lodge is located only 2 hrs drive from the second largest city in Panama, David. David’s airport offers two flights per day to and from Panama city. We are also located only a 10 minute drive to the water taxi’s (boats) that go to the bocas islands and the island's airport.
Property has one full time employee who has been on-site for nearly 10 years. He lives just a couple kilometers away and walks to and from work daily. His daily duties include all grounds maintenance as well as horse care and horseback riding tours for guests. He also hauls in all supplies and guest luggage when needed. When owner/operators are not present, the employee stays onsite 24/7 to maintain the turbine system and watch over the lodge for days or weeks at a time if and when needed. He is a great asset to the lodge and works closely with the locals if additional workers are ever needed for new construction projects.
The lodge currently books guests independently through various online booking sites but also works with three Panama based eco tour companies that use the lodge regularly for their international clients. Currently operating as Panama’s only hike-in all inclusive eco lodge. Owners will provide hands-on training for a couple weeks if needed for a smooth transition.
