The group ciaimed that this was a symbolic act in solidarity with Gaza and that they were simply doing what the IDF is doing, among other things, to Gaza citizens: switching off the water supply. They also protest the fact that many formerly occupied (squatted) empty properties in the downtown that provided refuge to underprivileged and migrants have been vacated by the police and eventually bought by foreign investors and turned into luxury boutique hotels.
