Zanzibar: Minister clarifies braided hair ban only applies to Zanzibari men

Description

The ban on 'immoral' hair braiding for men was introduced in July 2023. Earlier in the year, the autonomous island's government had banned LGBTQI+ friendly books from classrooms. Hair braiding is a tradition of the Maasai on mainland Tanzania.
