According to official figures just 38,000 foreign tourists arrived in November 2023 compared to over 370,000 in November 2022. The common perception that (international) Tourism cannot bring Peace yet it desperately needs is once more confirmed. Meanwhile, hotels are filled with evacuees. As witnessed during the pandemic, hotels are more resilient as they can have alternative uses, but other tourism sections suffer greatly. The Tourism industry being a largely conservative industry worldwide (a long story) you will not often get to hear tourism industry representatives voicing their displeasure against conservative governments. Of course, those who suffer most are tourism workers, and in this particular case totally innocent women and children at the receiving end of military action.
