Description
According to an analysis of previously secret, Chemical industry documents, by UC San Francisco researchers, the industry tried to delay public awareness and government regulation of per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) while knowing about their toxicity from internal studies. PFAS have been added since the 1950s in various products, materials and fabrics for their water-resistant properties. Maine is the first US state to ban PFAS by 2030.
