Description
33,000 frontline workers at Boeing, members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), voted to ratify a new union contract with the company, which, following a two month strike, finally agreed to offer them a payrise amounting to a 43.65% compounded wage increase over four years. One way of looking at this is to remember Bertolt Brecht's “The one who fights can lose. The one who doesn't fight has already lost.” On the other hand, the company is the fourth largest defence contractor in the world, profiting from the never-ending wars, so its workers get a dividend from human suffering.
