Italy: Cruise ships banned from docking in centre of Venice

Following local complaints and a request by UNESCO, the Italian Cabinet has decided that cruise ships will have to dock outside the lagoon and away from the historic centre of Venice. A ban had been in place in 2013 following an accident, but it was overturned at court, while a similar directive in 2017 was not enforced. Third time lucky for Venice?
