As part of the SEWA-Airbnb Hum Sab Ek ("We are One") partnership, 10 homestays in Phyang village have been listed on the travel portal. SEWA represents 1.5 million self-employed women in India's rural areas. Airbnb claims that through home sharing, women hosts, who make around 30% of Hosts in India, are able to significantly augment their earnings. A similar initiative is taking place in Gujarat and there are plans for expansion throughout India.
