Kanthalloor, a farm village in Kerala’s Idukki district, won a Government of India Award for its STREET project. The village council, in cooperation with Kerala's Responsible Tourism Mission, enhanced the rural experience for tourists by demarcating parts of the village as green street, vegetable street and fruit street. In 2022, Kanthalloor was also India's first village to develop women-friendly tourism in cooperation with UN Women.
