The Special Area Development Authority (SADA) Development Fee will apply to non-resident vehicles entering Spiti valley, a popular Himalayan destination, during winter months, from the start of 2024. The proceeds will be deposited into a dedicated bank account with the aim of supporting public amenities such as toilets and solar lights, municipal solid waste and sewage management programmes, and the construction of a tourist information center.
