A nonprofit established in 2012 to facilitate the mass scale implementation of Sustainable Tourism Practices in small accommodation establishments and other tourism businesses and communities across South Africa. The programme is in alignment to the National Tourism Sector Strategy and the National Minimum Standard for Responsible Tourism NMSRT (SANS 1162:2011). As such it incorporates environmental, cultural, heritage and social criteria, economic best practice, community resilience, universal accessibility and service excellence. The programme offers a variety of interventions including Sustainable Tourism Implementation Workshops, Staff Green Training, Waste Management through Tourism, Local Sourcing through Tourism, Sustainable & Responsible Tourism Handbooks, Events, Surveys and Market Analysis.
