United Kingdom: Employment Tribunal rules in favour of redundant Thomas Cook staff

Added 2021-03-17

Description

The ruling allows around 1,500 former Thomas Cook head office workers in London, Manchester and Peterborough to claim up to GBP 4,200 each from the UK Government. Thomas Cook, which suddenly went bankrupt in September 2019, should have started a consultation process at least 45 days before laying off anyone. The judgement was secured by the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA) and specialist law firm Morrish Solicitors.
