Sabrina Syed Akil, President of the Association for the Protection of Natural Heritage of Malaysia (PEKA) and owner of Tanah Aina Eco-Resorts called for a logging moratorium in the Banjaran Titiwangsa forest in the light of recent floods and to protect elephant and tiger habitat and wild herbs. Akil also lamented the silence of other environmental NGOs for fear of being sabotaged or defunded.
