President Yoweri Museveni signed into law the world’s harshest anti-LGBTQ+ bill, which applies the death penalty for homosexual acts. The bill was passed by 387 out of 389 MP votes in March 2023, and Museveni had returned it once to parliament for reconsideration, to no avail.
