THE
OCTOBER ECO-QUIZ WAS: - The answer was: The winners: Mark Merret, Canada, & P.P., Romania Mark Merret's reply: "Poikilotherm organisms body temperature is affected by their surrounding environment. Reptiles (which are poikilotherms) often sit in the sun to warm their bodies, and move to cooler areas to cool down. Sometimes humans do this for fun. The mass tourism activity could be when people visit warm sunny beaches and spend their day(s) basking in the heat, getting a tan. and then to cool off they take a dip in the ocean, lake, pool or whatever is there to cool off in. The difference between poikilotherms and humans here is that our bodies are designed to keep our body temperature at a constant level, in other words we're homeotherms. Poikilotherms bodies cannot regulate their body temperature." Mark Merret's Favourite Website: P.P' s Favourite Website: This Month we are inaugurating the Ecotourism Crossword !
