Tourism Studies in South America

Friends,

As a part of my research for my PhD thesis, I've been retrieving information on tourism in South America. One useful tool is a review called "Estudios y Perspectivas en turismo" (http://www.estudiosenturismo.com.ar/) it's an indexed review with several years of research accessible directly through the web with no need of register or payment.

I just wanted to share the website. Although it's published in Argentina, most of the articles come from Brazil and the subjects are mainly related to tourism management issues. It is, however also possible to find papers related to protected areas and ecotourism in both Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

Yzia Encomenderos (Perú) , Amparo Vela (Perú), Tomás Cotrina (Perú), José Heredia (Perú), Grimaldo Rengifo (Perú), Alberto Rivera (Guatemala-Colombia), César Sotomayor (Perú), Martha Giraldo (Perú), Gustavo Capece (Argentina), Mathias Beyer (Alemania), Simon Mac Arthur (Australia), Luis Zapater (Perú), Miguel Baca (Perú), Roger Valencia (Perú), Carlos Gonzalez (Perú), Eric Tribut (Perú), Karina Pinasco (Perú), Luis Ramirez Germani (Perú), Tom Calame (Perú), Etienne Durt (Belgica-Perú), Lieve Coppin (Bélgica-Perú), Samuel Morales (MX-Resid Perú), Georgette Leblanc (Canadá). La sistematización es de Gina Sam.

Katia, my sister, produced this video, we are pleased to share it with you. Ir refers mainly to San Martín, in the north of Peru, where she interviewed people with activities related to permaculture, sustainable tourism, and art.

Dear friends, this is my first post in Ecoclub.

Unfortunately I am a native spanish speaker and most of my production is made in spanish (although I do not have lots of it!). I am currently studying a PhD degree that is quite demanding, but in the other side, also very interesting.

This time I'll share with you a text that I produced a few weeks ago and is related toTourism and Hegemony.
