Dr Aloyce Nzuki is a seasoned tourism development specialist with over 35 years of experience. He has served as Permanent Secretary in the Tanzania Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT) and also as Director General of the Tanzania Tourist Board. He participated in the development of policies, legislation, and strategies governing the tourism business operations. He also served as Chairperson of the Joint Technical Committee for the Tanzania Tourism Sector Survey (TTSS) Project (www.nbs.go.tz). Currently, he is Director of Touchwood Consulting Limited, and works as an independent consultant: an ILO-Zambia to Conduct a Sectoral Review Study and Drafting a Sector Skills Strategy for the Tourism Sector in Zambia; independent consultant with a WWF ecotourism development project in Tanzania; team leader with an EU-funded Rwanda Tourism Market Intelligence for Rwanda Development Board. -

Dr Aloyce Nzuki is a seasoned tourism analyst and development specialist, with over 30 years of experience as both academician and practitioner, backed by a PhD (Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management) - from Clemson University, USA, 2006; an MSc (Tourism Marketing) - University of Surrey, UK, 1993; and a Bachelor of Statistics - Makerere University, Uganda, 1988. He has served as Permanent Secretary in the Tanzania Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism; and Director General of the Tanzania Tourist Board. He conducted regulatory, research, tourism product development, and marketing duties in his career. He also participated in the development of policies, legislation, and strategies governing the tourism business operations, including nature-based tourism and ecotourism.
In his career, he received training in project management. He worked for three years as a Project Manager, Ireland Aid/Tanzania: Tourism Sector Support Programme in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. He also served as Chairperson of the Joint Technical Committee for the Tanzania Tourism Sector Survey Project. The Committee comprised professionals from MNRT, the Bank of Tanzania, the National Bureau of Statistics, and the Immigration Department (www.nbs.go.tz).
Currently, he is the Director of Touchwood Consulting Limited, a private consulting firm. He has undertaken several consultancies, including currently working as an independent consultant on an ILO-Zambia to Conduct a Sectoral Review Study and Drafting a Sector Skills Strategy for the Tourism Sector in Zambia; recently concluded projects as an independent consultant with a WWF ecotourism development project in Tanzania; team leader with an EU-funded Rwanda Tourism Market Intelligence for Rwanda Development Board; the World Bank’s establishment of zones for commercial farming and tourism development for Mainland Tanzania; and SADC’s Regional Tourism Disaster Risk Management Strategy and Communication Framework.
