According to IUF, the hotel supposedly closed for renovations without notice, in December 2021 but work has not yet started. The local hotel union's demands include full pay and continued access to health care for the workers, suspension of short-term bank loan repayments during the closure, non-discrimination against union activists and members when the hotel reopens.
