Ghana: approves world's first malaria vaccine

Added 2023-04-13

Description

Trials show the R21 vaccine, developed by Oxford University and India's Serum Institute, is 80% effective. Ghana, a country heavily affected by malaria, has now approved the vaccine for young children, who are the worst affected group among the 620,000 victims worldwide. One day it could also become a must for travellers who currently only have malaria tablets at their disposal.
