ECOCLUB Monitoring™

The A&N Islands Integrated Development Corporation has issued a call to undertake development, management and operations of four ecotourism projects in four islands (Long, Smith, Shaheed and Aves). Some areas of the archipelago are off limits to visitors in an effort to protect the remaining indigenous and uncontacted peoples. In 2012-2013 a lengthy court battle failed to stop a new national highway, the Great Andaman Trunk Road,  from crossing indigenous territory.
