First Canadian 100% online sustainable tourism program launched

Vancouver, BC, Canada - 23 September 2010

The first Canadian 100% online sustainable tourism program is now offered by the University of British Columbia (UBC) Continuing Studies.

Developed by Dr. Rachel Dodds, an expert in sustainable tourism, the course is practical, current and solutions oriented.

Without going anywhere and from the comfort of your home or office course participants can enjoy university level professional development. This course is delivered 100% online and requires approximately 6 hours per week. Introduction to Sustainable Tourism is designed to provide anyone working in the tourism industry a deeper understanding of the principles, current issues, and specific methodologies for managing tourism sustainably.

Using lectures, best practices and case studies the course will provide an understanding of issues and solutions to achieving more sustainble tourism.

The course content is designed for entry-level personnel as well as seasoned professionals and business owners.

Course Details:

· The Introduction to Sustainable Tourism course starts October 15, 2010 and is available to students across Canada
· Delivered by the UBC Continuing Studies Centre for Sustainability
