Thanks to a bill signed into law on 31 March 2022 receipts from county lodging taxes will no longer be spent exclusively on tourism marketing, but up to 90% can now be spent for other purposes such as housing, child care and trail maintenance. While hesitant at first, the bill received support from the tourism industry.
