US: Hawaii introduces reservation system to limit visitation at iconic Lē‘ahi

The new reservation system, introduced on 12 May 2022, aims to mitigate environmental impacts of foot traffic, reduce vehicle congestion and improve the experience of locals and visitors. Hawaii residents may still access the saucer-shaped 300,000 year old crater, without reservations.
