Yaks of Broghil, The Wakhan Corridor, Pakistan
Yaks are the major source of livelihood for communities in Broghil, along the Wakhan Corridor, Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. In the recently taken pictures below, yaks are being driven through the thigh-deep snow to a nearby market for sale to sustain the livelihoods of the Wakhi communities in extreme winter.
