Germany: Train drivers' demands met after series of strikes

Added 2024-03-28

Description

According to the agreement between the GDL train driver's union and Deutsche Bahn there will be a reduction of weekly working hours from 38 to 35 without a pay cut. Workers opting to work over 35 hours will be compensated extra. The Union Members will also receive an inflation compensation of EUR 2,850 in 2024 and a EUR 420 pay rise. Mainstream Media are all too keen to report of disruptions, however they then forget to write when a strike has been successful, one wonders why that may be.
