114,600 signatures collected and delivered to the federal chancellery will lead to a referendum on whether a new article on “sustainable population development” will be added to the constitution, supposedly to keep the population of Switzerland under 10 million. This development reminds us of the long historical links between population alarmism, nativism and ecofascism.
